Every Friday in the Booth Hall at Harrietsham's Community Centre on Harrison Drive, we hold a coffee morning with an open invitation to all to attend. The refreshments are provided by members of the Harrietsham Wives Group and the Church of St. John the Baptist who offer freshly brewed cups of tea or coffee and often home made cakes.
The doors open at 10.00am until 12noon and you can have your refreshments (including a refill!) for 50p, or whatever donation you would like to make. It is a lively affair, where old friends catch up on all the news of the week and new friendships can be made. Quite often there will be something running on the back of the event to add interest.
We have held several fundraising activities e.g. the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning, on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Relief, a sale of Mary Kay cosmetics, a visit by the local Crime Prevention Officer from the Kent Constabulary or the annual Christmas Carols sing-along.
We are looking for others to join the team. We work in pairs and are only required to take our turn once in every seven or eight weeks. If you are interested and would like to know more, or might like to come along just for a cuppa, then phone Yvonne on 851362.
